I am Janet Hall - I opened The Mortgage Lady, based in South Oxfordshire, in 2008.
We now have a team of 5, dedicated to providing our national client base with the best possible advice and support with their mortgage and insurance needs
As independent mortgage advisers we are able to advise on both first and second charge mortgages with any lender who will deal via ourselves and/or the many master brokers that we have access to for specialist lending.

Tim - Business Development Mgr

Not often unleashed on the public, Tim sits in the corner playing on the internet - although he likes to tell us he is researching and managing our systems and databases. He is also responsible for negotiating with the lenders should we want something out of the ordinary.

Minisha - Case Manager

Minisha is one of our two Case Managers, one of whom will become your main point of contact on a day to day basis starting with the collection of your supporting documentation and oustanding data before processing your application and then liaising with the lender, solictors and estate agent as necessary through to publication.
Heather - Records Administrator

As a client you will rarely speak with Heather, who is the 'backroom powerhouse' ensuring that our client and case records are complete and compliant with the everchanging regulatory requirements. Her other job is telling Tim off !
How it works:
I will deal personally with your initial enquiry, data collection and providing the relevant advice - and continue to monitor your case progress.
At an early stage, one of our case managers (Jo or Minisha) will be allocated to your case - and they will deal with the administration aspects (such as collecting and checking documents, processing the physical application while liasing with you, the lender, your solicitors and the estate agent - if applicable).
Tim works mainly in the background -maintaining our systems and databases, researching more complex cases and negotiating with lenders while ensuring we stay current with the ever changing regulations under which we work.
Heather, again works in the background - ensuring that our client and case records are maintained to ensure our service levels and regulatory compliance.

We charge fees for applying for your mortgage.
Typically this will be £350 for a purchase transaction and £250 for a remortgage transaction. However, if your circumstances are more complex (for example, but not limited to: guarantor involvement, multiple applicants above two, adverse credit, foreign or non-standard income or recent/current expatriate status) the fee is likely to be £500.
Where extreme circumstances are identified we reserve the right to apply an increase to the above fees, but any such increase will be negotiated and confirmed on a Client Agreement in advance of any formal instruction to proceed.
Our fees become payable when we make an application to a lender on your behalf and are not refundable.
We will also normally be paid a commission from the lender for arranging the mortgage on your behalf.
We do not normally charge you a fee for arranging insurances.
